Style Links

I loved this pad and its functional finishes and big open indoor spaces. The mix of white and timber and clean lines belies what seems to be a fairly budget conscious fit out. The awnings over the windows and doors are not a big ticket item, but they elevate this place and allow open views outdoors, but a degree of privacy from neighbours.

The garden is also a great space with the use of compacted crushed rock and hardy plants. And even though I'm a bit nervous for the pooches of the home and their paws, I luurve the cattle grid style links between indoors and out. But it does seem like the pooches have sussed out how to handle the obstacle easily.

Paint Them

What brilliant inspiration this renovation is to an owner of a slice of 60's splendour. The miles of painted white brick and the crazy paving floors are superb. I've been toying with crazy paving in the back yard seeing as the lack of precision will suit this house no end, and I won a cool door prize at an industry event last year and need to go collect a big whack of stone/granite/marble - whatever I choose.

But the eye candy I appreciate the most is seeing the timber framed picture windows painted out in white. I'm still doing the leave them natural/paint them white battle in my mind, so any image that reminds me that all will be well, whatever I decide, is appreciated!

Oh So Far

Just when I think I couldn't possibly find any more homes to go into my top 10 of fave spaces, something like this comes along.

White upon white washed walls {but showing through the rustic brick finish below}, stunning country views, gorgeous shots of colour, some vintage, and a timber clad sanctuary.

I also love the simple framework of the house. A gorgeous big white box, but made up of the classic white washed brick and steel, it is oh so far from a modern generic sugar cube.

Wonder If I Will

Nothing like a bit of white washed brick is there? Just gorgeous.

And I'm loving the encaustic tile counter top in the kitchen. Those tiles have been on my radar for a while now - beginning to wonder if I will regret not having them in the bathroom reno coming up. But I think there will be too many features if I go for these as well.

And that copper light? Serious envy right there.

Cool On Every Surface

There's a lot to envy here isn't there. From the dark timbers to the monochromatic cool on every surface, there isn't a single thing in this home that I wouldn't happily tuck under my wing.

The best bits for me are the industrial light over the table, the awesome storage arrangement in the kitchen, the shade-less lamp in the dining area with the amber bulb {where oh where do you get those from??!!} and of course the fabulous long and narrow fauxdenza. Have been a long time fan of those, and yet too big a chicken shit to try one yet.

Back On The Radar

I've always been a sucker for good black + white, so no surprises when this place caught my eye.

Seriously jealous of that mercury glass jug, and this bedroom has put the pia wallen blanket I've ummed and aghhhed about for so long firmly back on the radar.

*having serious connection problems this week, apologies if there
are any problems with the images, flying a little blind at the moment*

Cool Links

This place shot onto my radar this weekend via some very cool links from Apartment Therapy. The artwork above the dining table featured in the same post.  I really loved the neutral B + W scheme matched with a solid dose of timber and the light smattering of vintage throughout the home.

Oh, and I'd seriously love that bedhead and martini sign in my place. Such a great look.

And thanks again A.T!
