Style Links

I loved this pad and its functional finishes and big open indoor spaces. The mix of white and timber and clean lines belies what seems to be a fairly budget conscious fit out. The awnings over the windows and doors are not a big ticket item, but they elevate this place and allow open views outdoors, but a degree of privacy from neighbours.

The garden is also a great space with the use of compacted crushed rock and hardy plants. And even though I'm a bit nervous for the pooches of the home and their paws, I luurve the cattle grid style links between indoors and out. But it does seem like the pooches have sussed out how to handle the obstacle easily.

Supplies The Inspiration

I love seeing super cool renos of mid century homes like this. It supplies the inspiration I need when I look around the Splendour. {Especially when the rain sets in and the ceiling starts to leak!}

Loving the open vast planes of this home and the warmth the timber lined ceiling brings. That's a great move right there.

In Neon

I've always been a massive fan of Penny Farthing Design, but this sneak peak at D*Sponge reminded me why.

I love  a design firm that deals in neon and I love a home that's open and light and serves up casual cool from corner to corner.

Fresh In

Still with the hope of lovely grey smooth rendered walls fresh in my mind, this place jumped out at me too. And these lovely walls are in a bathroom scenario, with a free standing bath as well. A few visual boxes ticked there.

Apart from that pleasing serve of concrete, I love the vintage pieces in this home. And I seriously love that faceted bow. What a cool piece.

Vestibule Of Cool

Everyone is well aware of my unswerving love for concrete right? If not, or you're new here, take it for a given, you're going to see a lot of concrete.

Needless to say this place stopped me in my tracks. What a perfect lovely grey vestibule of cool these walls make. I particularly love the cut out of the white plastered wall in the dining space. Its almost as if they couldn't bare to completely suffocate the gorgeous grey stuff.

On another concrete front, I had a little win in the bathroom reno planning stage this weekend. While having breakfast with a friend in a very fab café I found the most perfectly concrete plastered walls, AND got the number of the tradie that pulled off such a fab finish.

What a relief, I was dreading trying to find someone who would a) agree to do it without giving me a sideways look and b) would be good at it. Oh I do like the unbridled pre-reno enthusiasm stage. May it long last.

Absolutely Perfect

Sorry for the late start today. I'm in the land of long weekends and sleep-ins.

Seriously looking forward to a slow paced weekend pottering about the house. I wish I could report that I had big projects at hand, but nothing that exciting will be going on. Probably cleaning, most likely!

Over my leisurely coffee this morning I was trawling through some archives over at AT and found this slice of perfection. What a gorgeous home. I love the way the owners have furnished this place.

Nothing too precious, but absolutely perfect for the space. And I'm really loving that crazy paving. I think the Splendour needs a good dose of that pool side! One day.

I hope everyone has a lovely, lovely long weekend and safe travels.
