Lovely All Round

Usually when trawling for interior porn {hopefully the spam-o-dometer doesn't go through the roof due to that word}, children's spaces aren't on my main radar. But this home got me in with the children's rooms. Especially that lovely little hidey hole in the cupboard. What a dream space that would be for a young one. I like the way the children's spaces aren't totally juvenile, or, trying to be too cool for school.

Apart from that, the lovely balcony space is gorgeous for an inner city home. I imagine the parent/s in this home enjoy a fair bit of time out there while the young are otherwise entertained in loft cupboards and what-not.

And that kitchen is fabulous also. I want a dear friend to own this place so I can bunker down at that table with a bottle of wine for a good long while.

This home is lovely all round.

Sleek and Oh So Cool

Living in roof space always seems to encourage ingenuity in design. And this place is no different.

Apart from the gorgeous Paris-ness of the building there have been some modern injections which not only look great, but function perfectly too.

My fave? The pocket door to the bedroom. Sleek and oh so cool.

Authentically Clever

This welcoming family home is full of clever little ideas. From the built in bed with storage underneath to the superb hat shade, I love them all.

Mixed with a life full of personal treasures, these clever little ideas manage to avoid looking try hard.

That makes this place authentically clever!

Balance Out

I love the joinery in this home. From the timber cupboards through to that bed platform, it all is perfection.

The floors add to the warmth of wood tones. Which, very cleverly, the owners haven't allowed to overwhelm the look. The injection of colour into the cabinetry and the wall cladding helps balance out the look.

Forms And Delights

Sometimes a strict colour palette comes off as contrived and a bit too try hard. But not here. In this amazing home it translates into a cool, calm and collected look.

From the white through to the charcoal and then up to the top of the amp red, it really gels well. This kind of seamless look then is the perfect launch pad for texture, in all its forms and delights.

The linens, timbers and cane all round out the edges of a systematic approach to colour.

Splendiforous

Some people are blessed with many talents aren't they? These amazing works by Matthew Cusick clearly demonstrate one such person.

Apart from his artistic creativity, imagination and skill - how about the patience of a saint! Again, a talent I'm severely lacking. The hours that have gone into these works must be staggering, but what a pay off. {click on the images to view in detail}

I hope you're all having a splendiforous weekend, and thanks heaps for dropping in this week!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mums out there, hope it's a lovely day.

Super special thanks this week go these awesome people...

Little Space

What a clever use of space this place is. None of the spaces are particularly large, but the open void through the building really gives the impression of space.

But I just melted at that little girl's room, with the canopy blind festooned over the ceiling, ready to pull across at night and block out the light, but retract in the morning to let the sky light open up the little space.
