Fresh In

Still with the hope of lovely grey smooth rendered walls fresh in my mind, this place jumped out at me too. And these lovely walls are in a bathroom scenario, with a free standing bath as well. A few visual boxes ticked there.

Apart from that pleasing serve of concrete, I love the vintage pieces in this home. And I seriously love that faceted bow. What a cool piece.

Vestibule Of Cool

Everyone is well aware of my unswerving love for concrete right? If not, or you're new here, take it for a given, you're going to see a lot of concrete.

Needless to say this place stopped me in my tracks. What a perfect lovely grey vestibule of cool these walls make. I particularly love the cut out of the white plastered wall in the dining space. Its almost as if they couldn't bare to completely suffocate the gorgeous grey stuff.

On another concrete front, I had a little win in the bathroom reno planning stage this weekend. While having breakfast with a friend in a very fab café I found the most perfectly concrete plastered walls, AND got the number of the tradie that pulled off such a fab finish.

What a relief, I was dreading trying to find someone who would a) agree to do it without giving me a sideways look and b) would be good at it. Oh I do like the unbridled pre-reno enthusiasm stage. May it long last.

Magic Happening

I've been collecting images of grey cement render lately for our bathroom renovation coming up this year. We've pretty much decided on the palette, which is exciting. Now we just have to face the implementation side of things!

So this bathroom was a great example to file away. Love the magic happening on the floor also. And what about that view - imagine tucked up in a deep hot tub and looking out over that.

Velvet and Berber

There is so much I love here, I seriously don't know where to start or stop.

But I guess the first hit would be the bathroom, there's some serious inspiration there for our bathroom reno this year. The only tiled area of the bathroom is going to be the shower recess, and I want the rest of the walls to be cement rendered. So this image above is a great resource, because I know that there will be more than one tradie that scratches their head trying to picture it.

But apart from that useful reference, I just love the way this place is furnished. I mean, seriously, who doesn't have a soft spot for peacock blue velvet and berber rugs?!

Crisp Details

This modernist home was screaming 'BUY ME' on the weekend. But sadly, as it's in Florida and costs $2.4m, I thought it imprudent.

The concrete floors are gorgeous and the crisp details - not a skirting board or architrave in sight. The sliding mirrored door is a little detail I'd like to steal and use here. But I think that black bedroom was the killer for me.

Oozes Cool

Be still my palpitating heart. This place is a bit alright, now isn't it?! I was hooked the minute I saw that outdoor area. Imagine the fireplace roaring, gluhwein in hand and everywhere white. Just stunning.

Apart from that knock out, this place oozes cool, from the timber, leather, cane - through to the stone and concrete bathroom. This is a bit of alpine heaven.

Another Level

I'm always a soft touch for some concrete, but this place takes it to another level. The island kitchen bench, the bathroom fixtures and the bench seat in the sitting all in smooth grey goodness is the stuff my dreams are made of.

{Also rather partial to the stone cladding too, just quietly}
