Deservedly

I'm particularly loving the blue and green hues that this place is showing off. But with it's zebra skin, gilded Italian tole, cream vintage tolix and lovely art and books galore, it seems showing off comes naturally. Deservedly so.

A Little Spot Of

I love the styling of this blue + white shoot. It's so far from the traditional blue + white china type shots - and I like that. You know. Also the fact that there is some kind of alcohol in nearly every shot is a winner too after the week I've had!

Many, many thanks to one and all for a lovely week, and even though I'm still not over this rotten flu, I hope you've enjoyed a few things I managed to find to show you this week.

Particular thanks go to these special lovelies for some special + lovely link love this week....

and uber special thanks to Ally @ From The Right Bank for having me over for a little spot of guest blogging, and to all you v.cool chicks who dropped by with tuna sandwiches. Made my day.

The Task

I love natural timber, and struggle regularly with my love of timber and contemporary. Trying not to overdo the balance in one direction or another.

The blue painted backs of the china cupboards and the task lighting are two things that I particularly love. But the wood finishes are the winner by a long mile. Makes me want to bust out the orange oil and start polishing. {btw, if you want a natural looking oil finish for dry hungry timber, that oil is the best thing I've ever used}

Dressed Up

I love the muted grey, beige, and blue palette of this house. The softness dressed up with a cool art collection and modern accents makes for a really easy to live with home.

Stunning Slice

Nirvana looks an awful lot like this in my mind's eye. This stunning slice of heaven on earth combines all of my favourite elements concrete, timber, stone and magical views to provide one of my top five homes this year.

The old building is brought to life with a simple modern approach which takes nothing away from the character of the place, the views or the integrity of the building. The verdant garden and the sea breezes are the icing on the cake.

White And Bleached

Love the sea greens, lime, blues and mauves in this house. Such a stunning combination of colours when used with a white and bleached wood background.

Integrity

I love the way this home has been left in it's original state, with the patina of age on it's walls and floors clearly evident. This patina gives an amazing backdrop to the modern art and furniture, that gives the whole look a kind of integrity.
