Play Up

Seeing this place made me extremely grateful. I've been struggling with the level of 70's gold trim in my bedroom, but after seeing this, I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with it.

I've always loved gold, but there's gold and then there's well the other kind. But I think the trick is, no matter which type you have, is play up to it. Match it with style and glamour and let it shine.

Sitting Pony

I so would not do this, if this place were mine, but because of that I also kind of admire this too. Does that make sense? Hope so, because I feel that way quite a bit.

That pink is really not my thing, but it clearly is the owner of this apartment's thing and I love seeing people just go out there and do it. It's not a total whack job, I mean, I get it. But it's just not me.

Kudos to them, and to the sitting pony. Love that. And doesn't everyone need to take the weight off their feet from time to time.

A Tingle

This place grabbed me because it is so unabashedly vintage from top to toe. Some people really hone in on a look and it becomes like their language. Don't get me wrong, I kind of admire that. I'm such a flibbertigibbet that I can never stick at one.

The main reason though that I wanted to show you this place is that bed. How cool is that. I get a tingle of wow-would-love-to-give-something-like-that-a-try every time I see steel tube DIY. But sadly it's kind of like my other would-like-to-give-that-a-try envy, Kate Lanphear's hair; it's probably not going to actually happen!

Too Bad

I know there are people around that abhor a "pop of colour". Well, too bad.

Although I cringe a little at the term, when faced with an example like this home above, I really like the results. The bites of citrus are gorgeous.

And as for painting with chalkboard paint being over, when I looked at the image above, I thought "not by a long mile".

Something Rather Lovely

This hit-you-between-the-eyes-with-colour home is something rather lovely I think. It belongs to artist Tove Mauritzson.

Conviction

I really love it when people decide, 'you know what, that's my thing', and just go for it. Case in point, this house. I mean, I love a bit of lilac and lavender (particularly when mixed with a solid dose of grey, black and white) but I couldn't do this extent of it. Regardless of that though, I love this place.

Its the courage of the conviction that wins me over. I think its the same in fashion, work and dating - if you have the confidence to pull it off, you can! Its quite infectious really.
