A Room With A View

Everybody loves a room with a view, but this is insane. Imagine living across from the Bilbao Guggenheim. I'm a bit gobsmacked by that view, but the rest of the home isn't anything to sneeze at either.

A stunning mix of contemporary and antique treasures, it has a real gallery feel itself. And seriously loving the design of that bookcase, what a great way to reinvent the everyday.

In Time

The casual chic of this home is something I'd love to achieve. Some people do it naturally and it shows.

I keep working on the theory that if you just keep/buy only things that you truly love, it will come. Not over night, but in time.

It Seems That

I was going to say that I showed you Bookshelf Porn "just the other day", truth is, it was over a year ago. Seriously? Can't be. But it seems that it is. Where have the weeks gone?

The reason for reminding you of bookshelf porn is that I'm currently loving a similar thread called Bookshelf over at It's Nice That, a little corner of the universe that I like to frequent.

They not only delve into some v. cool homes to snaffle these images, but they also go through a little review of the contents with the owner.

If you're  looking for bookshelf eye candy that comes with a good book recommendation, this one is for you.

The Quorum

Been staring at this one for a day or three. The lights are doing it for me.

I've always been a bit fond of the panton Globe light, it kind of looks like something you'd expect to see in an evil scientist's lab, with electricity arcing off of it.

But the bedside light has me confused now. The house I've just bought thankfully has wall mounted bedside lights already hard wired in place. I say thankfully, because it actually isn't that common in Oz and getting them installed can be a bit of a pain. The current ones though are very yellow gold tone swing arm numbers. Suffice to say, not my thing. My current thought is a pair of these babies, but I'm still on the look out.

Oh and I love the quorum of bookshelves, they look like they're up to something.

The Effect

I'm being drawn to homes with painted white floors a lot lately. I've lived with painted floors before, but that was B.C. {before children}. The look still really appeals to me, but I think I lack the dedication to maintain it these days.

The other thing I'm loving in this home are the steel shelving units. They look inexpensive, but used en masse like this the effect is so much more!

Bookshelf Porn

I stumbled across this awesome site called Bookshelf Porn when I was having a catch up at swiss miss. The collection of amazing book shelves goes on and on.

And what's even better, you can read it while riding the train, or having a cup of tea with your Mum, or even share it with colleagues at work with nary a sideways glance or disapproving stare from anyone!
~
There's a lot of love to be thankful for this week. Firstly to all the people that follow along daily and the new people that have recently stopped by, I'm so very glad that you do.

Mega thanks to the amazing Anne from The City Sage for listing The Diversion Project among her current Must Read Blogs!

And a huge kiss and curtsy to these fabulous chicks for making me grin and blush!
