Beautiful and Interesting

What a lovely example of cool family living. Everything is robust and not too precious, but nonetheless, beautiful and interesting.

I like the way the original has been kept alongside the new, and speaking of the new, even those elements give a nod to the character of the home. In the kitchen I really like the antiqued mirror used in the cupboard backs. Mirror is great all round, but i think the antiqued finish was the perfect choice for this place.

Into One

This place is supremé luxe to the power of fifty don't you think. Soft greys, silvers, and low gloss combines to create a look that encapsulates luxury.

My favourite space is that bathroom with its silvered and mirrored walls and peach marble, now that is just stunning!

I also love the panelling with its soft sheen. It stops the overall look from being overtly feminine. And what a clever use of it in the bedroom, as one continuous low panel, pulling together the bed and the bedside cupboards into one plane.

A While

Some people are just too spoilt for choice. This lovely place has a few mirrors that should maybe come and stay with me a while.

Pure Style

The French have it in spades don't they. When I say "it", I mean "It".

This integral sense of style that rarely puts a foot wrong. From modern to traditional, and all the parts in between, they put up the most amazing interpretations.

This amazing fit out of the Veuve Clicquot hotel in Reims blew my mind. The hall of mirrors (and we know the French do that well don't we), the graduated stair runner and the jaw dropping crystal. But by far my favourite detail is the black mosaics in the bathroom simply, but so perfectly, teamed with  classic gold fittings. Pure style.

So Saturday

So, it's Saturday, it's cold, and I'm sick. The best cure - a bit of vicarious glamour via The Coveteur.

These lovely shots were just what the doctor ordered. And excuse me, but just how stunning are those marble tiles?

A Gorgeous Detail And A Little Peeve

How's this for a gorgeous little detail. I love that the mirrors are all white washed, makes picking up el cheapos from the second hand shop possible as you don't have to worry about the quality of the frame. V. cool look indeed.

Anybody else getting stroppy with Blogger? Man, I'm having trouble at the moment trying to post comments at your blogs. The stinking thing just won't let me log in! I've given up several times this morning, and then read over at David's Savoir Faire blog that he's having the same issue. At that stage I thought I'll try posting as Anon and it worked. So for now, I've reinstated Anon as an option for posting here at the Project. Just keeping my fingers crossed that this latest problem doesn't lead to another day and a half of maintenance!

Happy Saturday to everyone - I'm off real estate shopping.

In Reflection

Rounding out a very busy week with some simple gorgeous beauty. The play of light on these pieces of crystal and glass, and the patterns shown in reflection, is just lovely.

This kind of calm perfection is a nice little breather for me. My day job is pretty intense at times, and sometimes it feels like sensory overload can be just around the next corner. How do you unwind and exhale?

Happy To Have

I'm seriously thinking that there's something missing in my life. These font covered mirrors are sensational don't you think?

I'd be rather happy to have one in my home. Kind of makes me think the owners of this place are being a little selfish having several. Come on, do as your mother told you, and share nicely!
