Fab One

As pre-fabs go, this is a pretty fab one isn't it. I really like the sharp modern external look which doesn't try and trick the eye into thinking it's a more substantial home. It's clearly a metal box dropped onto the site.

But indoors is where I really start to pay attention. The owners' collections of personal things - the plants, the art, the textiles, all add up to give the place a lived in and loved feel.

Nothing Is Lost

I really like the textures in this home. From the rough painted white brick, soft timber, tactile wallpaper to the gloss white that is used throughout.

It is modern and stylish, but nothing is lost to style for style's sake alone. The importance of warmth and texture have certainly not been forgotten.

{For those who've asked - the cube is a storage unit. Would be fun though if it was a bar or perhaps a tardis!}

None The Less

Well, hello. I know I said I'd take off until the end of the week, and today is Monday and well past my normal post time, but that's just how it's rolled. It's a public holiday here today, so in my head it's still the weekend!

Well, after two Golden Staph infections in the house (thank you skate board injury) I'm done in, but excited to be back and scouring the ether for cool spaces to Divert you with. I may roll the odd one out tumblr style, as I'm whacked and it seems every part of life is in catch up mode right now, but I hope they'll be Diverting none the less.

This one is seriously lovely I think. White and texture always just works.

And how's your week been?

Sweetens The Deal

The softness of this look is something I really love. The natural timbers, cream walls and linen furnishings create my kind of ultimate big city escape.

The fact that this home is in one of my favourite cities in the world, just sweetens the deal.

Took My Fancy

Thought I'd show you another v. cool space that took my fancy during my commune catch up.

Again, beautifully put together. The textiles are really the key to this look I think, and the casual layering of them.

That shiny lamp and velvet sofa detail in the lounge is my fave detail.

Never Out

Texture is never out of place is it. No matter what style of home. In this modern stylish concrete laden home, the texture really brings the place to life.

The raffia mat used as a wall hanging, the Moroccan blanket and the shaggy sofa throw really soften and round out the edges nicely. Even the Turkish bath towel in the modern bathroom gives the room a whole different look.

Velvet To Golden

Well, do I need to explain why I love this so much? If you pop in here regularly, then I most likely don't.

So I'll tell you a few of the added bonuses that really got me. The Platner chairs and their ethereal lightness even though they're steel and sturdy, they really add a fine intricate detail to the space. The craftsmen timber pieces throughout that bring warmth to the space. The tactile textiles everywhere, from plum velvet to golden faux. And finally who could not help but love Kate. Well, I certainly can't.
