Sweetens The Deal

The softness of this look is something I really love. The natural timbers, cream walls and linen furnishings create my kind of ultimate big city escape.

The fact that this home is in one of my favourite cities in the world, just sweetens the deal.

Soft Landing

Well, I'm back from the beach and trying to resolve this battle in my head that my holiday lasted longer than a nano-second. Back at work too, so I will try and get myself back on deck around these parts very soon also.

One of the best bits about coming back to reality with a thud though is a few soft landings like this gem I found in my inbox from Freunde von Freunden. Gorgeous Paris space, which, puts me back on to thinking about holiday escapes yet again!

Hats Off

While we're on Paris, I really loved this family loft in Paris. The simple no-fuss but very clever way these guys have fitted out their empty space is v.easy and v. cool.

I particularly love that in this budget industrial style fit out they've still gone for silk brocade drapes. Hats off to the Parisians.

Just How Lovely

This recent Freunde von Freunden interview is bittersweet. Gorgeous pad in the 16e and all, but a killer reminder of just how lovely it is to look out your window and see The Tower. I want my Tower view back!

Loved this little snippet of modern refined Parisian life.

An Era

This Paris loft just screams romanticism to me. Just soft, light, uncluttered loveliness.

The original bathroom is one of my favourite things. The massive bath and the colour palette that really sets it into an era are priceless.

Bench Mark

This Parisian commercial space for the designer Balmain has all the bench mark qualities of Joseph Dirand that I showed you before (here and here).

I love his pared back approach to interiors that lets the integrity of the architecture, and the components he introduces, to really shine.

Glass Houses

It's true you know, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. But I'm guessing, there's probably a whole bunch of extra stuff that people who live in houses with glass walled bathrooms shouldn't do either.

I love the industrial edge in this Paris loft, so much so, I could probably deal with the glass bathroom walls.
