Deft

And to finish off the week with a bit of colour - how stunning is this slice of creative genius? I love the painted finishes this couple have used in their home. Often the term 'painted finish' evokes a skin crawling mental image of terracotta bagged walls in an effort to try and turn a white box into a faux Tuscan villa. But this place definitely avoids that category.

Apart from the stunning colour mixes and deft paint work, I'm seriously loving that old billiard table light used for a long dining table. Great idea.

Really Timeless

I've been a fan of commune for some time now. Their work always has a lived in quality to it that I'm drawn to.

No stuffy cushions at right angles or punched to the exact shape du jour. Just really timeless looks that I could happily walk into and live in.

Just Wow

Loving the colour treatment here. It is blended with a good dose of lovely black, grey and white, so it is really cohesive and looks just stunning.

And that bedroom. Wow.

Turned Good

So much to love here, I hardly know where to start. So let's roll this out fast and dirty.
  •  Vintage lights galore, from nymph like loveliness, to MCM, to industrial. Wow.
  •  Black pantons - always so sexy and so v.cool
  • Vintage cupboard turned good in a modern black bathroom
  • Clever link between two vintage cupboards in the baby's room
  • Orange smeg. Nuff said.
But, I think the thing that's really knocked me for six is that kitchen. Undressed timber, meets thick terrazzo, meats leather handles. How brilliant is that.

Then There's This

So, some people are just incredibly talented right, and then there's this. Can't quite get over the detail, the composition and the craftsmanship in these amazing works by Daniel Kornrumpf.

Seriously, some people are just too amazingly talented by half.

Did You Spot This?

Died and gone to bedroom heaven. Have.

Did you catch this fabulous home over at Apartment Therapy back in September last year. I know, cruel of me not to bring it your attention sooner. Sorry.

I just love the small metallic touches in the warm white bedroom. It works seriously well. And that lamp is sensational.

The rest of home throws in a dash of many other faves, so there's nearly a tick in every box here for me. Bit of brick, bit of velvet, bit of mercury glass matched with orange, bit of Morocco. Oh so in love.

Lots

I was having a catch up the other day over at one of my fave little portals in the world, Remodelista, when I came across this amazing home visit.

The tub and the marble gut hooked me straight away, but the repetitive use of black throughout the home really clinched the deal. Love it. Lots.

Take a look at the story here for more...

Just Leap Out

The neutral colours in this home, from the paint colour to the grass wall paper and flooring, really let the integrity of the furnishings just leap out.

The solid old table painted high gloss white, the blue velvet armchairs and the brilliantly scaled artwork take centre stage. I never tire of these wall colours. In any style of home from vintage bohemian to high end glamour, they do their job well.
