Thanks For Playing

Am I pushing my eBay luck? How high would you go? {I'm thinking future boys'-TV-slash-family-room-upholstered-cushions-type-use here}

Yes, searching here for the voice of reason.

As always.

Thanks for playing.

So Kind

Thank you eBay gods and goddesses, you have been so kind to me this year. My latest acquisition. It's been a long time dream of mine to own one, and I finally do.

And thank you to everyone for dropping by this week. Feeling a bit under-resourced on the hours-in-the-day front in general at the moment (I know, nothing new).
You too?

This blog has had a kiss and a promise of attention out of me this week, so I'm sorry for not catching the list of people to thank this week. {Please don't be shy to let me know!}

But a big thanks to everyone, and wishing you a happy and peaceful weekend xx

Projects, Chairs and The Happy Dance

Hope all you kids had a sensational weekend. I know I did. {{Snuck off for a little I'm-not-done-with-the-beach trip}}. I've also ticked off a little project that's been waiting in the wings for a while.

I picked up a frame from an op shop for $8 the other week. Not for the Government Dept. advertising, but because the frame was incredibly well made. Add to the dags-ville frame a little left over black paint, and a gorgeous print from the very talented Emma Leonard, and I'm fully stoked with the outcome. Love it to bits.

OK, so I also promised a run down on some of my eBay loot too. These images are lifted from the auction pages, as I'm still waiting to take delivery on one piece and the others are temporarily ensconced in my workshop until I have figured out what to do with them and/or get my real estate dreams to come true.

  • So, there was a set of six antique chapel chairs {complete with bible holders} for $130 (yep for all 6!).
  • Then there was the brass and lucite coffee table, $3.25 thank you very much.
  • And probably my biggest happy dance was for a Philippe Starck Bubble Club Sofa for a post auction sale of only $200.
 Yes, it was a pretty sweet week indeed!

Worthy

Oh eBay gods, please be kind to me.

I will try to be worthy. I will.

Edit: Man! I am going to have to be flipping good to be worthy of this one!! It's all mine for a princely three figure sum (which has a decimal point in it!!!!! {{And is lower than 4}} Can't argue with that). Have been in eBay heaven this week, will show the other treasures later.

The Black Wall

OK, so after much waffling on and faffing around - I finally got it done. And I love it. I also painted the other walls the same grey that the rest of the house is painted.

I'm kicking myself a bit though because I got so fired up on  a mix of  dark chocolate, Foo Fighters and Tony Bennett, that I forgot to take before photos. Oh well. Suffice to say, imagine a lot of mucky old off white with lilac accents. Yeah, nice.

I am so swept off my feet in love with that suzani, can hardly explain. And seriously, what a bargain. Take a look back through here and here for the eBay store that sent this stunner all the way from Uzbekistan.

Thanks for putting up with the aforementioned waffling and faffing - now we can resume normal transmission!

It's Here

...and my wordy lordy yes indeedy - it's insanely gorgeous.

Look at this parcel that arrived at my office today. It was one of those days, so I just plonked it down on the drawing desk behind me {and squished some of my levels plans I've just noticed! oh well}, but took enough time to take a quick snap of the packaging.

It was inside a plastic bag and then sewn up shut by hand in calico and covered in all of these wax seals.
Going to try and get cracking on my b-room this weekend to make it worthy of the sexy thang.

- Thanks Jo for the tip off!

Scored

I squealed a little bit last week when I was checking my emails at work and found out I had won this fabulous suzani on eBay. Thanks to this little tip off from Jo over at Desire To Inspire, I went browsing through a huge range of textiles, ceramics, shoes...all sorts of things, over at this ebay store.

The suzani's got me though, and {just quietly} so did the price!! It was a bargain.

The last three images are of the piece that I scored. It's huge, so I'm planning on using it like a spread in the first images. Can't wait till it arrives!
