Easy Target

I'm an easy target for the Moroccan look. I love the textiles, the rendered surfaces, the stone ware, the brass ware and the rich colours.

I think Riad life and I were meant for each other. I haven't been yet. But, one day. Have you? What was your favourite treasure that you brought home with you?

Riad

How dramatic is this?! The treatment used on this Riad is so bold, but wow, it works. Love the touches of vintage and the luxe treatments.

And those pom poms on the bedspread - killing me.

Bedouin Weekend

Here are a few pics from my amazing weekend away to the "Bedouin Clay Pans of Carnarvon". I have to say, it was one of the most incredible times I've ever had.

My gorgeous friend and a band of her neighbours put together this make believe little oasis, complete with pet goats, in the Aussie desert and brought together around 50 wonderful women. We were brain storming some fund raising ideas to raise capital for the purchase of a helicopter for medical evacuations for the area. My gorgeous friend sadly lost her teenage son to a tragic motorbike accident while mustering sheep on the station about a year and a half ago. This tragedy highlighted the desperate need for this type of service in her region.

Apart from brain storming we did a great deal of laughing, lounging, feasting, bubbles consuming, chatting with old friends, power walking over the cracked clay and enjoying the company of some incredibly strong and gutsy women. Into the night a fire dancer with lit torches performed for us under the wide outback sky. We went to sleep under the stars, and were ever so greatful that we were there.

For now we've come away with pink painted work boots, some pretty out there costumes, a bunch of amazing memories, and a drive to get this thing rolling and steaming ahead to reality.

Fes

With the weather turning decidedly cool here now, my mind is naturally planning an escape. I mean, I really shouldn't be such a wuss, it's Australia right, it doesn't get that cold. And I actually like winter at times, snuggling in front of the fire or heading over east for a bit of skiing.

But there is something programmed in me to migrate to warmer regions. And as far as warmer regions go I think Morocco would be amazing. Still on my must see list, and in particular Fes, where this calm piece of colourful tranquility exists.
