Some Fluff And Nonsense

With the days getting cooler here I'm really starting to get the feeling some fluff may be required. Fun and frivolous and just a little bit glamorous fluff that is.

If any of you northern hemisphere girls had a favourite jacket last winter that falls into this category - be a doll and send me the link. Looking for inspiration, and seeing as you lot are heading into spring/summer, there may just be a sale price tag to go with it!

Cheers and have a lovely weekend.

V. Cool Collaboration

Take a look at this v.cool collaboration between fashion blog Oracle Fox and Billabong.

I do love it when good things like this happen, and with great design like this, what a brilliant outcome too. Must track down one of those jackets before autumn!

Familiar

I wanted to show you some of my latest faves from Streetfsn. I'm just loving this blog. Lots of people can pick pretty in a crowd, but this guy has a flipping brilliant eye for composition.

If you're not familiar with it, you really should be.

I Shall Be

Yay for the weekend, and oh what a week it has been! I have been bank wrangling, but at last I think we're done. In three months time, I shall be moving into a slice of sixties loveliness. Timber framed picture windows, patios, fireplaces with stucco finish, massive old school pool, and wait for it - painted brick.

It's all manner of browns and oranges right now, and will have to slooooowly evolve, as this one has taken some doing (damn WA real estate market!), but, there will be loads of fun to show along the way. First up I think will be replacing orange glass and smashing down the bar. Well, perhaps a little tipple first, then the smashing.

I can be strangely superstitious, so I'm not going to jinx it by showing you pictures now, but come settlement day, will let you in on the deets.

Hoping your weekend is looking something like the v.cool images above, mine is sadly not, I'm sadly lacking on the amazing I've-just-got-back-from-morocco leather work.

But nevertheless thanks so much for popping in this week, and as always a special shout out to these lovely people.....

Ageless Style

A new blog love of mine - Advanced Style. If you haven't seen it, you seriously should. The creator of this genius blog, Ari Seth Cohen, says  "respect your elders and let these ladies and gents teach you a thing or two about living life to the fullest."

From the fabulous images I saw on his blog I couldn't agree more. Apart from the timeless and seriously cool styles that can be found, there are some snippets of wisdom from the people featured. One lady's secret to ageing beautifully is "don't take things too seriously, eat well, and dance often". But one that made me snort out loud was "I don't want to stand out, I just want to dress better than anyone else". Gold! Grab a coffee, or a cocktail, and enjoy a wander through. I did.

Well thanks again for the special treat of dropping in this week; and if I may, a little request. To anyone out there in the ether to send positive real estate vibes my way - with any luck there may be good news ahead. But then again, there may not. So anything that can help tip the balance in my favour would be most appreciated!

Special thanks this week to these very cool kids for sending some Diversionary love my way...

Feeling It Too

Channeling a little caftan and turban love your way this weekend. Hope you're feeling it too.

And when it comes in the way of stretchy rich velvets, who couldn't help but feel it. These v.cool little numbers come from The Future Of Frances, go look.

Note To Self

Loving this look from Dries Van Noten at the moment. That dip dyed jacket has my name all over it, along with the orange nails. {Note to self, stop buying chairs you no longer have any room for, and buy v.cool denim jacket instead!}

I thought I'd also show you the latest reason why I don't have a Dries Van Noten dip dyed jacket right now. This image above is of a painting I picked up in an auction this week. It's by Lilly Napangardi, an Aboriginal artist from the Northern Territory, and it's titled Hail Storm. So mesmerised by it, can't wait to have it home with me.

Hope everyone's had a lovely week and didn't get slammed too hard by the blogger festival of maintenance {yeah, good one}. Thanks heaps for coming by this week, and a massive smooch to these cool people for spreading the fun....

and though this isn't usually my style......this was not so cool!! Take a look here and then HERE, at a blog called Mashmoom. If you're trying to spot the difference, you won't need long. There is none. I get that we all like the same stuff, that's one of the coolest things about blogging - but do we really write exactly the same words - nah not usually. Copy + Paste = Bad Blogger. In my opinion. End of rant.

{{post edit: have just read the couple of comments over at the blog above, you girls are so cool}} {{Wow. Post, post edit: have noticed your comments have been deleted}}

OK, this whole scene gets funnier by the minute. Apart from a daily deletion of the comments this blogger is getting from readers here, she has now changed 3 words in her post. Now you may be able to spot the difference, but you'll have to turn your head on the side and squint your left eye to do so.

Could Help

I seriously think this jacket could help me survive the impending winter. On sale (if you're a medium that is) at Free People right now.

{And yes, they're shipping to Oz now, so no excuses not to go take a look around. There's some bargains to be had peoples}

Wandering Through

I love a local girl doing good story, so I was chuffed to read of the rise and rise of local girl Kym Ellery in Trendland. Kym is from Perth, WA and has in the last few years scaled the fashion heights.

These looks are from her new Fall line and I had to love the title, “Tenenbaums in the Tuileries”. Doesn't get better. For a good look around at the Ellery lines and achievements, do go and take a look at her site, it's brilliant.

Hope everyone is up to their necks in fun and relaxation this weekend. Thanks for wandering through here this week, it's been a treat!

Very special thanks to this bunch of cool people this week....

Visual Creature

I am such a visual creature. I see something, there's a recognition of something that I like, and I lock in.

A tiny little image from this store got sent through to my inbox the other day and instantly I saw something I liked.

The lovely clothes and cool stylings you see come from a shop called Edna & Wilhemina. They create handmade sustainable fashion (and killer images too).

I loved seeing more, I'm sure you will too.

This Kind Of Lovely

Treasures like these stop me in my tracks. And when people photograph them and present them as beautifully as this it compounds the problem.

These were found at the gorgeous store called pinguim, there is page after page of this kind of lovely. Your attention will be caught, I promise.
