A View

As the days are getting shorter here, I'm trying to hang on to summer with both hands. Sneaking in a swim most nights after work, even though my mind is telling me its too cold, cooking everything I can on the BBQ and searching for the perfect beach house.

This place ticks a lot of boxes from the cerulean blue to the vintage chairs with a view of the sea.

Community Service

Have you all spotted this brilliant home of Juliette Arent over at The Design Files? I'm sure you have, but on the slightest off chance that you might have missed it I thought I'd give it a shout out.

Apart from my community service minded goals, I just love it. So surely that's reason for another look!

Hello, Hello

Well hello, hello. Hope everyone is having a lovely start to the weekend. After being down south last week, followed by a whirl wind work trip and more whirl wind work stuff, it's good to be at home having a second Saturday morning coffee.

The boys and I headed down to Albany on the WA south coast. We had one gorgeous hot day, and then it rained. And rained. And rained. But it was still lovely.

Lots of seeing the incredible sites, a couple of long lunches, and a good deal of camera avoidance was had.

Such beautiful scenery down there, thought you might like a squizz.

Over Drive

I've always been a big fan of the v. cool style of the sass & bide duo, but when I saw the home of Heidi Middleton, that admiration went into over drive.

Would not change a thing, not a single thing. Well, except for perhaps it's ownership! Crazy gorgeous home. Go take a look here at Tales of Endearment for more.

Clever Sense

This brilliant home brings together the exact look I'd like to achieve if I was starting from scratch with a new build.

A simple back drop (the grey is perfect) and a slathering of vintage to bring it into the realm of real.

Not to mention that v. cool black kitchen and black wall that shows off a clever sense of perspective. Great idea on the moose head.

But i seriously love the vintage bath and vanity - that colour is just gorgeous. And when looking at hte house a whole, how well does it fit in with the overall look!

You can read about the build of this cool home at Grey Gardens.

Delightful Discovery

How is this for a stunning slice of mid century architecture? This is a local beauty currently on the market, and I really need to get myself over there for a look. Only a few minutes from where I live, this place has really got me curious.

It was designed by Iwan Iwanoff, renowned in Perth for pushing the boundaries of his time, and creating homes that are full of light, timber and serious style.

But while looking through these images, and then more of other homes he designed here in Perth, a little thought started to brew in my brain. A lot of the window details in this home, and others, are identical to the details in the Splendour. Not common to find the size or the construction style around, so I kept looking further. The more I looked, the more curious I got.

As I haven't any details on the history of my new place, I've sent in a request to the local council to get the original plans pulled out of the archive.

Fingers crossed, I may have a delightful discovery!
