In The Quivering Forest

This is a perfect little case of life imitating art. One of my all time fave tunes is ''Blue Ridge Mountains'' by Fleet Foxes, so when I stumbled upon this woodsy home I had a little grin when I realised it is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Seems like the perfect fit.

And if you don't know the evocative tune, have a little listen below.

Little Piece

Look at this stunning little piece of Brooklyn I spotted while catching up on things at the NY Times. I love the soft colours, vintage goodness and quirky collections.

Being Enveloped

I found these images really evocative of how I want the season to be turning. It has been a fabulous summer - cannot deny it. But it has been a very long and very hot one out here in the west.

I'm ready for the darkness to creep in along with some drizzle in the early afternoon and to spend a weekend enjoying the view being enveloped by fog. Call me crazy, but I am.

To Another

Following on from the white uncluttered look of yesterday, how about this stunner. It is the antithesis of yesterday's look, but isn't that the best part of being alive? Swinging from one extreme to another {and to another, and another}? Or perhaps that's just my Gemini sensibilities.

But seriously, couldn't pass up this place. The original flagstone floor, the early timber furniture, the stunning beams and brick work. It really is a slice of the good stuff.

I seriously love though the new clean white ceiling in the bedroom, sidling up to the expansive old beams. Really cool contrast.

Pushed Forward

How is this gorgeous Queensland home? Stunning, right. The way this old girl has been pushed forward into today with clean charcoal and white lines and a modern aesthetic indoors has been skillfully done.

Both black and white subway tiles and that lofty ceiling in the kitchen are just perfect. And that timber trim detail on the white door leading out of the bathroom is a nice little addition to my renovation inspiration file.

Tripping Through

This week I just loved these superb images that I saw at Oracle Fox. Seriously cool don't you think. And I seriously need to get myself a mega sequin jacket just like that.

Hope everyone is having a splendid weekend, full of fun and stuff. Thanks for tripping through these parts this week. As always it is pure joy.

And super big thanks to these lovely peeps...

Time To Turn

These beautiful vintage kilims available from Loom are really enablers in disguise. They've distracted me nicely from the overpowering stack of empty cardboard boxes in my living room. If I keep finding gorgeous things for the new house, there will be little time to turn my attention to the task of the hour.

Suits me.

Thanks so much for the drive by's, drop in's and shout out's this week. I feel bad that I really haven't had my eye on the flow to thank everyone that I should, so please, if you share a Diversion or two do let me know so I can thank you properly.

But one late thank you I have caught is to the ever so wonderful...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

An Era

This Paris loft just screams romanticism to me. Just soft, light, uncluttered loveliness.

The original bathroom is one of my favourite things. The massive bath and the colour palette that really sets it into an era are priceless.
