Absolutely Perfect

 

Sorry for the late start today. I'm in the land of long weekends and sleep-ins.

 

Seriously looking forward to a slow paced weekend pottering about the house. I wish I could report that I had big projects at hand, but nothing that exciting will be going on. Probably cleaning, most likely!

 

Over my leisurely coffee this morning I was trawling through some archives over at AT and found this slice of perfection. What a gorgeous home. I love the way the owners have furnished this place.

 

Nothing too precious, but absolutely perfect for the space. And I'm really loving that crazy paving. I think the Splendour needs a good dose of that pool side! One day.

Gone For It

 

This home had some very cool details that I loved. First off, that leather armchair - I've been scouring the second hand sites looking for one exactly like that. Wish I could copy and paste it here at the Splendour.

 

The partition between the bed and the dressing area in the bedroom is such a great idea. It doesn't close in the space like a stud wall would, but allows the bedroom space to be a restful space without all that clutter.

 

Loving the little shelf straddling the bath, it reminds me of this one I've posted before. I just need the bath to be installed as part of our renovations, and I'm installing one of these with a glass of wine the first night!

 

And then I also think the scale of that art work in the living room is sensational. With enormously high ceilings like this, you can cut loose with hte scale of art. And I love how they've gone for it.

 

Wonder if they want a house sitter?

As If It Were

The individuality of this home is seriously appealing. The art and collected objects all gel together as if it were meant to be.

But the little seed that this place has germinated in my head is - why is my shed full of steel shelves when they look so good indoors?

Requires Attention

This place hit me on a few levels, each of which requires attention.

Firstly the wall mounted Tolomeo made me remember that I have some on back order for my bedroom. They're meant to arrive in February - well it's February now, where are they?! Inane task of chasing them up is required.

The rich velvets in the living room made me think I should put recovering my wing chair a bit further up the priority list. (why is there no priority list fairy that comes and leaves a blank cheque btw?!!) Juggling the priority list to make it accommodate nice things as well as the necessary is required.

And finally that timber and mirror vintage bedside table just completely gut hooked me. How ridiculously beautiful is that. Hours scouring the ether to find out where/how/who/how much is required.
