Often Times

Studio spaces are often times just as interesting as someones home. After all, they probably spend more hours there than they do in their apartment.

I loved the moody wooden vintage feel of this space and the plants growing toward the light. Cool space and seriously cute pooch.

Authentically Clever

This welcoming family home is full of clever little ideas. From the built in bed with storage underneath to the superb hat shade, I love them all.

Mixed with a life full of personal treasures, these clever little ideas manage to avoid looking try hard.

That makes this place authentically clever!

Cosseting Comfort

It's funny how you can have an opinion firmly set on something, and then all of a sudden one image can turn that opinion on its head.

I have to put my hand up and admit to not being a fan of the painted chevron floor craze, but this place is different. Somehow the industrial and vintage feel gives the treatment a bit more street cred, and it feels right.

Apart from that little burst of enlightenment, I'm loving the mix of timber and concrete, and the balance between industrial cool and cosseting comfort.

Community Service

Have you all spotted this brilliant home of Juliette Arent over at The Design Files? I'm sure you have, but on the slightest off chance that you might have missed it I thought I'd give it a shout out.

Apart from my community service minded goals, I just love it. So surely that's reason for another look!

Things That You Love

I really love the way this home mixes soft European country style elegance with modern urban edge, and gets away with it.

Can be very tricky to try and pull together different looks without a place looking blah or deranged! But the owners of this home have done it brilliantly. Perhaps they have stuck to the old adage of 'surround yourself only with things that you love'. Whatever the scheme is, it's worked well.

Little Piece

Look at this stunning little piece of Brooklyn I spotted while catching up on things at the NY Times. I love the soft colours, vintage goodness and quirky collections.
