Absolutely Perfect

Sorry for the late start today. I'm in the land of long weekends and sleep-ins.

Seriously looking forward to a slow paced weekend pottering about the house. I wish I could report that I had big projects at hand, but nothing that exciting will be going on. Probably cleaning, most likely!

Over my leisurely coffee this morning I was trawling through some archives over at AT and found this slice of perfection. What a gorgeous home. I love the way the owners have furnished this place.

Nothing too precious, but absolutely perfect for the space. And I'm really loving that crazy paving. I think the Splendour needs a good dose of that pool side! One day.

I hope everyone has a lovely, lovely long weekend and safe travels.

This Morning

Sorry I'm so late today. Event full weekend so far. A lovely long day trip to the country with some mates followed by an evening of eerie quiet, smoke and flashing lights. Coming home late from the country I found that the bush across the road from the Splendour had been on fire all afternoon. Road blocks were set up, and I had to ditch the car and walk home. I found my old border collie sitting by the pool watching down the drive waiting for me. Poor old fella, must have been quite an afternoon for him. There were fire trucks driving around till late in the night and every now and then you could hear a tree fall.

So it's been a slow morning, mostly pottering around Etsy, and trying to curb the buy now impulse. Internal chant something along the lines of {{must save for new roof, must save for new roof, must save for new roof}} on loop in my brain. But I thought I'd share a few of this morning's faves. Click on the images to go to the store.

Hope you're having a less event full weekend and possibly some serious relaxation or serious fun and games - whatever takes your fancy. Super special thanks this week goes to.......

Thanks Jo!

Awfully Fond

This place had me at the blue velvet dining chairs. So awfully fond of those.

As I am pretty much all of the other tactile furnishings in this cool home. Little bit of pillow envy occurring.

Softest Time

I collected this place because I'm loving that rug in the living room. The 60's Splendour has concrete under carpet in the formal living area {I really need to find a new term for that room!}, and I'm itching to rip it up and see what shape the concrete is in. I even dream about it as I'm heading off to the land of nod at night. Bit weird huh.

Anyway, in these dreams, or visualisations, the concrete floor has a beautiful patchwork rug made up of the softest time worn kilims.

Oh, and the rest of this place is pretty cool too though right. How about that roof top terrace with even more pallet coolness.

Mine Did

I loved these cool geographic cushions that hit my inbox the other week. They're printed on organic cotton and are available in a huge range of locales. These lovelies come from the aussie shop My Bearded Pigeon.

Did your week make you feel like that youngster in the first image? Mine did. But having you all along for a few Diversions made it much better. Thank you.

And special thanks this week go to these peeps...

I Get Them

I have to admit, I'm generally not that excited by cushions. I mean, I get them, I can see how you can add a whole layer to a room with them, but still I usually just kind of think "yep, OK".

But I really liked these blue and red ones above. I'm quite taken by the blue + red combo.
