I loved this pad and its functional finishes and big open indoor spaces. The mix of white and timber and clean lines belies what seems to be a fairly budget conscious fit out. The awnings over the windows and doors are not a big ticket item, but they elevate this place and allow open views outdoors, but a degree of privacy from neighbours.

 

The garden is also a great space with the use of compacted crushed rock and hardy plants. And even though I'm a bit nervous for the pooches of the home and their paws, I luurve the cattle grid style links between indoors and out. But it does seem like the pooches have sussed out how to handle the obstacle easily.

Snug Sensation

I really loved the cosy feel of this home. Loads of personal treasures and individual cool pieces.

 

But I think my favourite detail is the little dormer window over the bed. I can imagine what a snug sensation it must be in a cold climate to be tucked up warmly in the roof space with a little porthole out to the world.

Just Because...

Bathrooms don't come much better than this. {Plus, thatching doesn't get much sexier either}.

Maybe A Little

That first image is going in the inspiration file I mentioned yesterday. The picture windows are timber framed. I was leaning towards white, and miles of it, but the scale of those black frames sizing up to the concrete floors make this option a serious contender too.

Maybe a little corner somewhere could work.

Imagine If

I really like the sophisticated but individual approach in this home. It's seems very grown up, but certainly doesn't prescribe to a formula. Individual style is injected with textiles and art, and a collection of vintage and antique pieces.

But the main reason I gave this place some kudos was the very clever window coverings. They certainly got the scale and elevation just right. It's particularly noticeable in that first image of the bedroom. Imagine if they hadn't stopped to think about proportions, just how different that room would have looked.

They're Beautiful

How insanely gorgeous is this place. I am blown away. And I see a lot of design gorgeousness, believe me.

That vaulted wall of glass, and the stunning but restrained vintage details that are pulled together under it, have seriously taken my breath away.

If you have a chance, click on the images and explore the details. They're beautiful. If I was a more patient type of chick, I would've translated the article, but I'm not. But it seems a good bet to me that this is the home of a v. cool stylist.

Holy Trinity

Oh holy trinity of architectural gorgeousness. I'm sitting here with wide eyes and my left hand in the air, counting on my fingers...

Man I love this place. And I didn't even mention yet the brilliant vintage pieces, the fire in the bedroom {torture!} or the gone to heaven kitchen.
