Into One

That old saying of bringing the outdoors in gets bantered around a lot, but this place really takes the biscuit in that department.

The natural and blackened timber are such stars in the construction of the home, but the openness of the structure allows the natural and blackened timber outside merge into one.

The double height living space creates a canopy of the sitting room and dining area, helped by the 'branches'of timber supporting the roof. Genius.

Simple Honest

They say there's nothing like them. The 'Great Outdoors'.

And this home has it mastered. The visual links between indoors and out are like brilliant masterpieces on a gallery wall, framed by simple clean timber window frames. The way it curves into the landscape is just beautiful.

I really like the simple honest materials too, the timber lining, the formed concrete panels, and the polished floor. But the detail I love the most is the corten steel firewood storage bays out on the deck. Simple, rustic but very stylish.

Blossom

Out in the garden yesterday, I found myself surveying all of the neighbourhood trees and catching up on their news. Some were still in blossom. Some were looking like they were ready for a big old sleep.

I was reminded of these editorial shots I came across a while ago, with our lovely natives looking so very cool.
