A Room With A View

Everybody loves a room with a view, but this is insane. Imagine living across from the Bilbao Guggenheim. I'm a bit gobsmacked by that view, but the rest of the home isn't anything to sneeze at either.

A stunning mix of contemporary and antique treasures, it has a real gallery feel itself. And seriously loving the design of that bookcase, what a great way to reinvent the everyday.

Gone For It

This home had some very cool details that I loved. First off, that leather armchair - I've been scouring the second hand sites looking for one exactly like that. Wish I could copy and paste it here at the Splendour.

The partition between the bed and the dressing area in the bedroom is such a great idea. It doesn't close in the space like a stud wall would, but allows the bedroom space to be a restful space without all that clutter.

Loving the little shelf straddling the bath, it reminds me of this one I've posted before. I just need the bath to be installed as part of our renovations, and I'm installing one of these with a glass of wine the first night!

And then I also think the scale of that art work in the living room is sensational. With enormously high ceilings like this, you can cut loose with hte scale of art. And I love how they've gone for it.

Wonder if they want a house sitter?

Had Me

Turns out, I'm pretty easy to win over when it comes to interiors.

You just need to ply me with some timber, some open white spaces. Dazzle me with some witty art or vintage small talk and then dazzle me with a bit of shimmer, and I'm there.

This place had me at the parquet.

A Reminder

I had a great time the other day looking through a fave old haunt - 20 x 200. It had been a while since my last stop in, so it took a while to go through all the great pieces on offer.

Thought I'd share a few of my faves as a reminder to go take a look yourself.

Bit Intrigued

That top image is my fave of the week. The large open office (doubling as dining too I imagine) space, spartanly furnished, but done so with great style and scale. The stunning random light and that art work are my faves. I feel a bit of gold and silver leaf calling my name from the art supplies shop.

I'm also a bit intrigued by that rabbit - did you notice it in a couple of shots? What a poser.

But anyone that has this much style, and a dose of capiz in  their house is OK by me, no matter what attention seeking friends they have.

An Outlet

Skateboarding features pretty big in our house. And here's an outlet that I can really get behind.

I love this idea, and I'm looking forward to seeing this new blog on the block evolve. A clever twist on a proven formula, keep an eye on The Skartorialist.

Blue Velvet

This place certainly has a lot going for it. From the original exposed brick to the concrete floors - the hard elements of this fit out are right up my alley.

Add in the longest dining table, black thonets, blue velvet lounge, and some stunning art work and the reception rooms of this house take all the hard finishes out of this world.
