Delight In

So, I know I've been a bit of a whinger about winter lately (or Oz's version of winter which could quite easily equal a disappointing London summer!)...

So I was happy to find this beautiful home, and delight in how lovely it would be to be rugged up in this place over winter.

The massive picture windows and abundance of fires would help no end.

Soaring

This short clip taken by a couple of girls in a boat of Murmuration in flight is just breath taking. Enjoy.

Opalescent

What I wouldn't give for that display cabinet in the first image. Or this house for that matter.

{But, I really should seek help for my vintage obsession. Guess who won two cane chairs}

Love the concrete {you knew I was going to say that now didn't you!} and the natural setting. The scale of the rooms, the stunning kitchen with its opalescent tiles glimmering away, and the wake up and dive in  pool are all stuff that dreams are made of.

Urban Approach

What a joy this house is. So often beach houses stick to a very prescribed look. Bleached timbers, stripes, and light colour palettes. And why not, it is a perfectly gorgeous look.

But at last, here is a fabulous example that the safest look need not be the only one that works. Here they've applied a more urban approach, and isn't it a killer look. Still lots of natural elements of timber and found treasures {{seriously, how good does that collection of brush wood look}}, but all dressed up in a dark mix of black paint, shadowy corners and a touch of velvet. Loving it.

Mixed With

Black, white and a sliver of natural earthiness is a beautiful thing is it not?

I know a few of these images have done the rounds once or twice, or maybe even thrice, but I just sighed when I stumbled across them again in my cavernous files so I thought what the heck, no such thing as ''too much of a good thing'' is there!

That desk image is responsible I think for my little art collection I've got going on. Love the softness of that vintage oil mixed with industrial chic. V.cool.

Natural Wonders

What a wonderful look this house has based around some natural wonders - bleached wood, soft furnishings and walls the colour of sand, and a focal point bonfire.

This home has managed to stylishly bring the outdoors in, and I still love it; despite hating that phrase!

Stunning Slice

Nirvana looks an awful lot like this in my mind's eye. This stunning slice of heaven on earth combines all of my favourite elements concrete, timber, stone and magical views to provide one of my top five homes this year.

The old building is brought to life with a simple modern approach which takes nothing away from the character of the place, the views or the integrity of the building. The verdant garden and the sea breezes are the icing on the cake.
