Subject To Change

I wish this was me by my pool today, but we're up to our ears in rubble and bricks. The "slightly out of vertical" section of the retaining wall by the pool is now horizontal (with a bit of help!), and the whole section is being rebuilt.

Then comes the bituminous waterproofing to the back of it (which I'm doing myself) and after its dried and cured for a few fine days, the back fill goes in and then the girl is ready for paint. Because I'm only replacing a section of the wall, and the wall goes from one side of the property right over to the other side, I'll be re-painting the old sections and painting the new to tie it all together. Currently charcoal is the colour of choice, but you know, that's subject to change!

Thanks everyone for a really sweet week, and many thanks to these cool kids for spreading the Diversions around the ether...

Oh goodness, it sounds like terribly hard work. All the best! Doesn't sound like you're going to be putting your feet up today. A-M xx

Oh you sound brave. This sounds like very serious waterproofing stuff. No room for error. Hope it all goes to plan. :-) kl

I've re-read your post Jules and feel somewhat better. You are not (i think) redoing a section of your pool? I was so feeling ill for you as this is NOT a DIY situ! Now I realise it is a retaining wall near the pool. Phew!! Have fun whilst I grab a wee strong beverage! xo KL
