The Warm Minimalist

Despite the reality of my everyday life and what it unfolds on my home, I do have a little part of me that wishes I was more minimalist. You know, streamlined.

I thought this home was a perfect example of what I like to think of as The Warm Minimalist. The pared back style compromises nothing when it come to individuality and warmth. Timber, art, leather, textiles - but all in a very well edited and pared back look. So grown up.

oh see i was going to say almost the opposite - big statements in small spaces.....

whatever, it totally works. yeah, but not much room for kids, dogs or big clumsy men!

Despite my temporarily lousy internet connection, I just had to leave it to load to see something entitled the Warm Minimalist. That's me, at my most aspirational. I never achieve it (children, you know), but one dares to dream.

perfect description! i've also heard it described as soft modernism...

The mix of the modern and some older piece in this home. I kinda want to move in. And organize a huge dinner in that dining room.

I imagine soft muted music playing in the background, a nice gently breeze flowing through the windows - and hushed voices talking about the days events in this house.

And I am ultra impressed with those hospital corners on the bed linen. That in itself is a major accomplishment.

Lovely, stylish home (-:

warm minimalist. i like it. do you think messy, bright, plastic minimalist works too? no? right, i'll have to have a talk to my little one & ask her to please keep her styling to her room! x captn

I think streamlined puts it well Jules. Still some nice personality in there. It's very cool!

Oh it's beautiful. There's a lot to be said for paring back. I seem to be doing it more and more these days. More St Vinnies bags at my door as I type. Good for the soul... having less stuff and living simply. A-M xx
