Grey With A Chance Of Colour

When I saw this home in Elle Decor, a little involuntary, 'ohhh perfect' came out of my mouth.

The grey is so beautifully set off by the gorgeous colour accents, and not to mention the fabulous leopard print chair. And the layering of colourful ethnic patterned fabrics in the bedroom just really clinches the deal for me. {oh, and the fact that it's in Paris doesn't hurt either}

Little Friends

I'm still a bit smitten with little creatures, following those amazing lights last week, so when I saw these gorgeous little things I had to show you.

They come from a charming little neck of the woods called A View To, a little Etsy atelier in Paris.

Plum Tuckered

All I need this weekend is a few spare hours up my sleeve, and one of these gorgeous beds. {oh, and a Cone of Silence wouldn't go astray in this household either}

Crazy week of not-so-good diversions has left me plum tuckered out. Deadlines, meetings, and to top it off - a freak hail storm which has pretty much written off my shiny new black car. This car was my first big time 'yeah baby' car purchase - you know? Now it looks like a golf ball.

And now, my PC seems like it's fried. Currently hijacking son's laptop, whilst trying to organise for the PC doctor to come out.
Oh well, they're only objects {and are insured}. There are sadly many people in Perth far worse off as a result of the storm, and my heart goes out to them.

Hope there are clear skies in your part of the world!

Just Because

...my heart belongs to Dior. And 2010 is a bloody great year!

The Wax And The Wane

I like the the wax and the wane of these images. I think it's the gemini part of my brain that is appreciating the exquisite beauty in contrast.

If You Go Down To The Woods Today

These whimsical lights by Lieux have hooked me. Line and sinker.

The delicate twists and seemingly fragile turns of steel concoct a magical little piece of constructed perfection. Not to mention the woodland menagerie that's along for the ride.

I'm giddy with love over these lights, but what makes me even giddier is imagining that somewhere in the world there is one of these lamps on a tiny person's bedside table.

Please, someone write to me and tell me that it's true.

Cool Hand Glamour

You know me, I love a bit of glamour, I do.

I'm frequently more drawn to cool though, probably because with a full time job and two part-feral boys, cool is easier to do on a daily basis than glamour.

{Editor's note: Ms Diversion Project is not propounding to be actually capable of effectuating either state of being on a daily basis}

However, I was thrilled to see this example that proves the two need not be mutually exclusive. Sure, it's styled and shiny - you would be too if someone was taking your glossy photo - but it has little cool touches that make me think, 'you know what, you're ok'.

I mean, who could say no to an artwork, in a seemingly serious setting, that plays homage to a power ballad?! I know I can't.

If it tickles your fancy, take a look at the rest of Matthew Heller's range hereYou see, I also have a penchant for a power ballad or two - isn't that right L? {has your throat ever recovered from that last road trip petal?}

Bloom Swoon

Its been a long while since I've seen a florist's site that made me swoon. I think it's because these particular images are all single variety displays, the way I like my flowers best.

Seeing as its Wednesday, thought you might be due for a swoon too?

The Ladies Club

I love these feminine images. They made me imagine some kind of fabulous Ladies Club. Not the kind where we'd talk about the price of eggs, but the Old Establishment kind of club tucked away in a fabulous city somewhere.

The sort of place where you can take a room for a few days while in the city on business or to see the ballet.

We'd sit back and drink Gimlets and make conversation about terribly clever things. {and then we'd most likely fall down laughing and wetting our pants}

Bold Experiment

Cutting a Mini Cooper in half and mounting it on the kitchen wall might not be an option for most people, but when you're dealing with a room of these proportions it almost seems like the most sensible thing you could do.

This room thrives on the idea that bold is better. The car, the nail polish red smeg, the silver sofa, the long vintage table all add up to a bold experiment that went off without a hitch.
