Fingers And Toes

I loved the 'settled in' look to the rooms and styling above. It's a look I'm hoping to have in the not too distant future. However right now, we're anything but settled.

Unexpected developments are afoot at Chez Diversion, and fingers and toes crossed, they will lead to some exciting changes ahead. However, just for now, the mixture of exciting developments and six weeks worth of work to get done in three at the office means that somethings got to give.

I will be scaling back the amount of Diversions for the next little while, but will still be rolling out some inspirational decor porn as often as I can. Once things settle down a little, it will be back to business as usual, including catching up on everyone's great posts more regularly!

Thanks so much for dropping by this week, it's been a real treat. Very special thanks to these awesome people for some special love this week....

Summer Desire

OK, after yesterday's Friday afternoon exhausted ''give me a dimly lit room and total silence" craving, this little shack pulled me back into the summer desire of a tropical paradise to call my own little slice of heaven for a week or two.

This clean white look and crystal clear turquoise just screams tall glass, sarong and swimming. I particularly liked the clever way they have painted the underside of the tiled roof to finish off the all white look.

Soft Wash

This home caught my eye immediately for the snug little library room with the soft wash of light, the books and the squishy day bed.

I could do with a long afternoon curled up in there all snug and warm, drinking tea and snoozing between chapters. Sounds pretty low key, but that would be my perfect weekend this weekend. How about you - something a little more glamorous or exciting on the cards? Do tell.

Cleverly Considered

This evocative home is seriously stylish. From the architectural detailing that is brilliantly restored and preserved, through to the modern elements that sit quietly in the space, everything seems cleverly considered.

I have to own up to the fact that it took me a while to recognise the kitchen. The industrial task lighting and the pared back surfaces disguise the purpose of the room. And for someone that probably values glamour more than cooking, I love that.

Could Change

This home has a stunning combination of all things good. Shiny industrial, skins, grey, chandeliers, gilded frames and modern pieces mixed with old.

Really feeling this style at the moment. But anyone who's been visiting here a while knows that the wind could change, and probably will, any minute!

So Close

The beautiful timber throughout this home adds such warmth and integrity. It's been cleverly balanced out here by the painted ceiling features.

The feel of the home though says "exotic holiday destination'', and right now, staring down the barrel of Christmas holidays that are so close yet so far away - this is so my language.

I Get Them

I have to admit, I'm generally not that excited by cushions. I mean, I get them, I can see how you can add a whole layer to a room with them, but still I usually just kind of think "yep, OK".

But I really liked these blue and red ones above. I'm quite taken by the blue + red combo.

No Hurry

Here is the up-front disclaimer. I love my children, I do. I adore them.

But don't you ever just look at a quietly elegant space like this and dream of a little peaceful life sans enfants?? Me too. Just for a little bit, then I'd be looking for entertainment.

This peacefully pulled together look may have to wait until my two are all grown up and flown the nest, but it's timeless so there's no hurry.
