The Effect

I'm being drawn to homes with painted white floors a lot lately. I've lived with painted floors before, but that was B.C. {before children}. The look still really appeals to me, but I think I lack the dedication to maintain it these days.

The other thing I'm loving in this home are the steel shelving units. They look inexpensive, but used en masse like this the effect is so much more!

Great kitchen. If you love white floors without maintenance, explore the option of white linoleum - no not the old stuff of ancient hospitals - but the gorgeous Marmoleum. I have been specifying it for years because it is an environmentally friendly product made of cork and linseed that now comes in amazing colours - including wonderful creamy whites.

White floors are very impressive! I don't know how one manages to keep them clean all the time. I would definitely try them in my new dreamhome however.
Love your blog. It's very inspirational. You've got great taste! ^_^

My upstairs floors are painted white, and they sure do show the dust. I console myself that that means I clean them more often, so they're cleaner. But really a little dustier and less visibly so would be easier...
