Understated elegance and subtle luxe finishes really are a killer combo when it comes to creating a stunning city home don't you think?
I'd love to be a bit more brutal in my home to have a simpler quieter look like this, but I know it wouldn't last very long. I shall just have to satisfy this part of my brain by admiring this kind of gorgeousness online.
Post edit: Thanks to Jo @ Desire To Inspire for letting me know that this is the home of Francesca Connolly, an editor at Remodelista. No wonder it is so beautifully put together!

Yes but it's understated on a grand scale. Those ceilings, those fireplaces, that huge space. Wow it's a gorgeous space. I don't think children live here!
That home is divine. I agree with Amanda - it's definitely understated on a grand scale. Look at those chandeliers!!
Oh, that room with the colorful chandelier is a sweet surprise!
This place is amazing....I love the huge rooms and that blue bedroom is my favourite:)

I am like you and would like to be a bit more brutal, however I am finding everyday living and partner gets in the way. This is wonderful.

All so gorgeous, Jules. Especially love the staircase and the oversize chandelier!

Your posts take my breath away! I need to make my millions, buy my dream casa and fly you out! xo
It's gorgeous and so calming and tres chic at the same time :) xoxo
What lovely rooms...I especially love the last two..the colored chandelier and the fancy fireplace.
All statement pieces! Just look at the light fixtures!
And look at the architectural details underneath the staircase. I would trip often just by looking up all the time.
A warm hug to you,
Mon
I love this too but like you will have to enjoy and indulge in by looking at other peoples spaces. Most of these places have such great bones.... they look beautiful with nothing in them. ahh.

It belongs to Francesca, one of the editors of Remodelista. Lucky woman. The architect is Steven Harris. He does great work.
Love love love love love!
Oh my heavens. This is incredible.
