Clean Slate

Seeing this house has been like a little therapy session for me. It's helped me resolve my loathing of slate floors that developed a few years ago in a 70's style brown brick house. It was quite a large house and it had acres of slate that had been sealed. It was dark, dingy and just looked bloody awful! Have hated the stuff ever since.

But this application above is a breath of fresh air. Soft, light and unsealed - the way natural stone should be. It has really made me change my "hate slate'' attitude.

The other part of  the application of it here, is the continual flow of it, indoors and out. Perfect material for a clean, light, and casual surface.

These are some amazing pictures! I love the view but I have to say it might creep me out to take a bath with that guy watching me, ha!

Slate is ideal for a home near the beach ~ and the art/photographs on the walls are quite incredible too!

I hear you Jules, we have the 80's trifecta - pine/crick/black slate - but these floors are gorgeous. I'd be very happy if mine looked like this! K xx

Well Jules you've done it.
I've read stacks of mags, followed lots of great blogs but this is my 'true' home/
The bath, the view, the vibe!
Thank you for the joy in this post.

It looks pretty fabulous, loving it here too but you're right it has to be in the right setting or it's too much!
