Light And Dark

I really liked the contrast of the white walls and these gorgeous dark floors. Most of all though I think I like the simple ease of this place.

No "look at me" decorations, just the things the owners love - which obviously consists mostly of books and LP's, I like it.

Images from here.

Jules...there is nothing like dark wood floors. We had beautiful wide kauri wood floors in our home in New Zealand. They were almost black, deep and rich and they were spectacular. I think you are spot on with this post :)

PS..thanks for your comment!

Beautiful, tranquil posting. I could never do that. Too much into clashes of the colours :)

I wanted to paint my dining room white but hubby would not approve. I really like a white room.

That house is a real 'machine for living'. I think I may have just decided to go with dark floors - it's so much easier to design other peoples houses. When it comes to mine; god help me...

Hey, wrap your eyes around this - Elizabeth Maxson's work. Is she not crazy talented?! (She's also one of the most generous people I have met online - really worth checking her out). I've been thinking about doing my floors like hers http://www.flickr.com/photos/elizabethmaxsonphotography/4258868652/
