Up The Ante

Did you feel short changed after your weekend? I seriously think I must have blanked out and missed a day, because it doesn't feel like I had a weekend at all!

Perhaps I could do a re-run, and maybe apply my time more effectively in the beautiful surrounds of somewhere like this place.

This is the stunning resort called Las Ventanas in Los Cabos, Mexico. After all, if you're going to do a do-over you really want to up the ante.

Like A Moth

You know I love concrete right? Yes, it's a love that's true. So I noticed this awesome little project over at Ready Made just like a moth notices a flame.

If you're looking for an uber cool do-it-your-selfer to make you feel like life is not all about deadlines, computers, bills and getting tyres rotated this weekend why not give this one a try. {directions at the link}

Hope everyone is having a dandy weekend and, as always, thanks for dropping by.

And many, many thanks to these lovely people this week....

Straight Down

I really liked this home owner's sense of colour. Nothing is too matchy matchy, but nothing is straight down the line safe either.

The whole home is pretty high on the lived in cool barometer actually.

Loved These

Loved these two bits of cool last week.

Firstly, a gorgeous post called Enfant Savage over at the blindingly brilliant blog, Oracle Fox. Do go take a poke around, it's lovely there.

And second of all, this sensational ring spotted at AnOther, with a title "Crystal Brass Knuckles (I am going to realign your chakras motherfucker!)". Flipping funny.

Schmicked Up

Seriously buying into this colour combo at the moment. Black + white + tan.

Schmicked up with a dash of gold leaf or copper and the odd injection of clean shades of orange or verdant green.

It's my current recipe for visual happiness.

How Come

Seriously, how come some people get all the surfaces?

Marble and travertine galore in this fabulous abode. If it didn't look so perfect with the cool edge interior, I'd say they were just being greedy.

Jealousy is not a flattering trait now is it?

Pressing On

I quite like the way that in this contemporary space, there's been plenty of room made for the old.

Quite often people end up in homes that might not always fit  their personality exactly, for what ever reasons. But this place I think is a good example of just pressing on with it.

Modern large format tiles, smooth edges, plain off white rendered walls; but all kitted out nicely with the owner's love of vintage.

A Few Of My Favourite Things

I went looking through a few peoples Etsy faves on the weekend. Was cool seeing what people save away for a rainy day.

So I thought I'd share just a smattering of mine.

Click on the images to take you direct to the fabulous stores that sell these lovelies. Do you find that if you see something that you really really love, that when you look through the rest of the store there's at least a dozen or twenty more things that are just your cup of tea too?

Love that.
