Hide And Seek

How cool are these digs? Converted from an old commercial building there now lies an office and home (including that brilliant garden) behind a very non-descript facade.

Love how the original awning has been left in tact, it lets nothing away. Interior hide and seek on steroids.

{{apologies to those of you who are completely fed up with snow or cold, but as a West Aussie who is worn out with trying to work and sleep in constant temps above 36C, I just need a little snow right now : ) }}

A Serving Of

A serving of some of my favourite eye candy, just for a weekend escape. Love this space.

Hope everyone's had a great week, and thank you as always for making The Diversion Project one of your destinations. Many thanks to these awesome people for lovely mentions this week...

The Grey

Gorgeous design work, stunning architectural details, and brilliant photography. {{check out how well that light has been worked}} Couldn't ask for more to get me through the last day of the week. And what a week.

But the icing on the cake is this place is full of components I love. I mean, man, the grey womb chair. Love-ity, love, love. A solid dose of black and timber also thrown in for good measure.

Think About

Wood stacks are really catching my eye lately, especially ones like these in the home above and in this example I showed you the other week.

Simple in construction, perfect in rendition. If a new build was on the cards, this may be one of the ideas that get thrown into the mix.

My only concern is, how do you reach the wood on the top? And if you were to be tempted to pull out some logs from the middle would you start an avalanche? Of the kind of proportions that I'm pretty handy at creating with grocery store piles of apples?

I know, practical and boring, but hey I wouldn't be able to apologise profusely and slink out of the place if it was my own home. Something to think about.

Repeat Steps

All white is a pretty safe bet. You're inevitably going to get a classically good looking space.

But a great way to inject some personality into a space like this is this idea above. 1. Pick a favourite paper, 2. pick a defined space {especially one that encroaches into the room like this island bench} and 3. go for it.

Then when you're sick of it, repeat steps 1 to 3.

Off Visiting

I'm off visiting today, having a little outing for some tea and crumpets over at Jane Flanagan's amazing blog, Ill Seen Ill Said.

Jane ever so kindly asked to me to join her series of Where We Blog From posts. Do come and visit.

Settle In

Still with vintage globes on the brain - how amazing is this collection.

Also loving the light box installations in this home, but I think my favourite thing is the little dining area in the kitchen. I can just imagine that cosy nook being a fabulous place to settle in with a bottle of wine, a good friend and the view.

To Begin With

I was strangely drawn to this amazing work by Wataru Yoshida. The photographs are stunning to begin with, but the spider web of structural network that has been beautifully drawn gives a new context. Add to that, my inner typography geek rearing her head to say hoorah for the lovely labels, and yes, it's all rather cool.

Hope the weekend is being brilliantly entertaining and thanks ever so much for stopping by this week. Particular thanks this week, for some linkage lovage, to...

Doctor Ordered

Looking for a pain free weekend project? This brilliant little idea could be just what the doctor ordered.

I noticed these cool chalkboard globes over at the arbiter of vintage style, Blue Bell Bazaar. But please don't harm any lovely globes in the process {i have a soft spot for them} , but for one that is past vintage cool or is just plain ugly, this is a lovely idea.

Or better still, head over to the shop and snaffle one up right now.
