Taken Away

I love the balance between soft faded colour and the injection of rich gem tones in these images. Completely taken away ~

Exactly Right

The light palette of the concrete and marble give this home a fabulous canvas to work some magic on. I like the understated look. No cheap tricks, no "look at me" statements - just good old fashioned modern classic style. {yes, i realise I have a talent for oxymorons!}

But the thing that most impressed me is the talent of the person that hung the art works. Every single piece thoughout the house is sitting exactly right!

Undercurrent Running

Even though the style of this apartment is decidedly classic there is a stunning modern undercurrent running throughout.

The furnishings and art help to steer this home away from the pack and produce something stylish and individual.

Same Shade

I love the soft grey in the kitchen of this family home. It's the same shade that I have throughout my own house.

The injection of colour in the kitchen tiles is perfection - what is that colour? I thought of bakelite green, but I'm sure there is a more correct term for it!

Colour And Whimsy

Colour and whimsy play a big part in this look. The collections of treasures add another layer and set it apart from the pack.

But the first image seriously sold me the minute I laid eyes on the orange sofa and armchair against a personal style fave - the black wall.

Lifts The Look

I love the way this big open space has been treated. The relatively inexpensive charcoal board lifts the look of this place from bland to sensational just with its simplicity, application and consistency.

Just goes to show it doesn't matter how much you spend, its how cleverly you use the money you have!

Planes Of Pattern

What clever use of pattern there is in this Positano dwelling. The planes of pattern lead the eye through the expansive open living space, defining the scale of the room but also very cleverly linking it together.
