Just Because...

...I simply can't help myself...more marble gorgeousness from joseph diraund.

Barely A Moment

This house masterfully achieves what many others try and fail to do - have an easy transition between inside and out. It is by the same architect that blurred the lines between pond and bath, that I showed you last week here.

I particularly love the way the wing wall materials are carried through in one straight line from the exterior to the interior that almost begs the question "are we inside now?" The door frames and windows barely cause a moments pause. And the rock introduced into the man made hard elements is something that we do quite a bit in our practice, seeing it used inside the home here like this is brilliant.

Exceedingly Soft

I have an exceedingly soft spot for carrera marble, so when I saw this house I was won over instantly. Did you see that kitchen bench, I mean, insanely stunning.

And then to throw the same cavalier use of this decorating nirvana to the wind, the bath tub!

Tardis

I instantly fell in love with this little Tardis looking weekend retreat, sitting out in the Aussie bush. No phones, no email, no deadlines - looks like perfection to me right now. Oh to be out there with a book or three, warm blankets, glass of red, and some music {so yes, one little tech interference would be allowed}.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, and thank you all for stopping by for a Diversion or two! Big squeezy hug thanks to these wonderful peeps for some love this week...

Conviction

I really love it when people decide, 'you know what, that's my thing', and just go for it. Case in point, this house. I mean, I love a bit of lilac and lavender (particularly when mixed with a solid dose of grey, black and white) but I couldn't do this extent of it. Regardless of that though, I love this place.

Its the courage of the conviction that wins me over. I think its the same in fashion, work and dating - if you have the confidence to pull it off, you can! Its quite infectious really.

Cool Threads

Love these casual and cool threads by Aussie girl, Pamela Tang. With Spring just around the corner for us (if wishing made it so!), and Autumn heading around for you girls in the north, I'm thinking that these pieces would be a great way to do a bit of mid season layering.

Pushed Some More

I love the Chinoiserie wall of this London home. It's quite a traditional home, but a few little things caught my eye. Apart from the wall, there's the black splash back and dining chairs, the sitting room art and the scale of the head board which push the edge of the traditional envelope just enough. There could have been safer choices made, but they didn't.

It is a balancing act, but still, would love to see it pushed some more.

Red Riding Hood

I fell hard for this perfect image of Daphne Guiness wearing an amazing cloak by Alexander McQueen. In a week where I've been drawn to red and dramatic spaces, this image is perfection.

Took Me Away

These images of Cuba are stunning, and speak volumes. I love the way some photography transports you to a place, and these took me away instantly.
