Timelessness

This old place reminds me of the country houses I've lived in over the years. Wide verandas, half timber/half board, doors leading outside from every room, and that gentle light.

I wish I had thought to paint the walls like that though. The beautiful patchwork of hand painted blues and greens is the perfect way to give the old place a fresh look.

Because it is hand painted it has a kind of timelessness to it, mix that with fresh colours and a geometric pattern and you've got a foot in both worlds.

Jules, we need to talk because these photographs totally blew me away. This is probably my favorite post of yours. Ever. It's exactly what I've always wanted. I was just drinking it all in while I was on class today. I gave up paying attention and just started daydreaming. Sigh...perfection.

Holy awesomeness -- the image of the tribal mask presiding over the velvet settee and oriental rug has me swooning.
