Here are a few pics from my amazing weekend away to the "Bedouin Clay Pans of Carnarvon". I have to say, it was one of the most incredible times I've ever had.
My gorgeous friend and a band of her neighbours put together this make believe little oasis, complete with pet goats, in the Aussie desert and brought together around 50 wonderful women. We were brain storming some fund raising ideas to raise capital for the purchase of a helicopter for medical evacuations for the area. My gorgeous friend sadly lost her teenage son to a tragic motorbike accident while mustering sheep on the station about a year and a half ago. This tragedy highlighted the desperate need for this type of service in her region.
Apart from brain storming we did a great deal of laughing, lounging, feasting, bubbles consuming, chatting with old friends, power walking over the cracked clay and enjoying the company of some incredibly strong and gutsy women. Into the night a fire dancer with lit torches performed for us under the wide outback sky. We went to sleep under the stars, and were ever so greatful that we were there.
For now we've come away with pink painted work boots, some pretty out there costumes, a bunch of amazing memories, and a drive to get this thing rolling and steaming ahead to reality.

Now that looks like one helluva weekend bloss. I hope that you and your band of merry women see all your wonderful ideas come true. Pink work boots...I could change profession for some of those!
you had me at the title.. but I didn't expect such a noble cause - hope you guys reach your goal, sounds like it's sorely needed - x
Wow...this sounds amazing! Ditto you and your friends!
Jules, that is SO cool, I love it! Glad you had a fab weekend, how exotic! This is a really good cause, I have a friend who flies helicopters for a company that bases its outposts in rural areas for that very reason. Good luck with it all!

How lovely! It looks like an amazing time. And what a wonderful cause! So sorry about your friend's son. That's a real tragedy. Here's hoping that something like that never happens again.
Have a great week, honey! xoxo
What a fantastic oasis and wonderful cause...if you do a silent auction let me know and I will donate a necklace. With the looks of the meeting your event will rock!
How cool is this idea! I wish you the best with the fundraising - you can do it for it is great cause. Glad you had wonderful time there too. xoxo

So are you wearing those pink boots to work!!! Looks so fab and what a great cause I have to say. That's so heartbreaking about your friends son, they do it so tough in the outback, city people wouldn't have a clue and they usually hold the purse strings so go figure. It kinda makes me mad that people are pushed to fundraise for necessities like this.

Is it something us stateside could contribute to? If so, count me in hun! Amazing...SO glad you had such an amazing time Jules & still really wishing I could have been there too!

What an extraordinary experience!
Thank you for sharing

Sublime setting, especially under this vast western sky at night. Superb. A great cause and just a little sad that in this 'booming' State, government and big miners can't come together to perhaps even match dollar for dollar (if not outright). Here's to miracles and success!
What a fantastic way to get the crative ideas flowing...I am sorry for your friend to have lost a child, no one should ever have to go though that.....thankfully I see she has some fantastic friends and people around to hopefully make sure no one else has to go through the same thing...did you get to wear your heels on the mud?
I have never been so intrigued by pink! I thought these photos were from a movie set at first! So glad you had so much fun and I wish you all the best with the fundraising!
Jules, it all looks so fabulous, and what a wonderful way to fundraise!
Hi Jules,
What a wonderful cause and what a great gathering of women. I love that beautiful vibrant pink against the dessert landscape.

Fantastic images Jules.
I reckon there'd be a few 'head snaps' and 'jaw-drops' if the local blokes were driving past the paddock and saw all that pink!
It must have been wonderful to have the shared experience and the ingenious use of found items from around the property tells me that you gals are going to have some pretty amazing fundraisers over the next couple of months.
