Barely A Moment

This house masterfully achieves what many others try and fail to do - have an easy transition between inside and out. It is by the same architect that blurred the lines between pond and bath, that I showed you last week here.

I particularly love the way the wing wall materials are carried through in one straight line from the exterior to the interior that almost begs the question "are we inside now?" The door frames and windows barely cause a moments pause. And the rock introduced into the man made hard elements is something that we do quite a bit in our practice, seeing it used inside the home here like this is brilliant.

Jules, it does not matter where I am in the world, I always think of Australia when I see homes like this. The perfect balance of two worlds..we need them both!

So many hard surfaces but it doesn't seem hard at all really. I love that bedroom.

Such a great home...love the bedroom, it would be a gentle place to wake up.
BTW I've nominated you for a couple of awards [I know these are usually given to crafty and 'feel good' blogs and you have a strong design focus but I get such inspiration from your postings and you were one of the bloggers who inspired me to get going with blogging...
don't fee that you have to participate but know that choosing you was a heartfelt decision.]
x Felicity
