Pale shell, dark furniture, cool art - three amazing ingredients. They seem to work every time. A little detail here that is really working for me is the cane lounges.
Just goes to show you don't have to lash out for an antique French chaise or modern deep cushion variety either. Just a fabulous pair of cane sun lounges will do very nicely!

You find the most beautiful rooms. The sofa in that first image is one of the loveliest I've ever seen.
I do like those cane lounge chairs. love that mona lisa art piece, too...
This is like torture...have seen this room/house before and SO WANT/NEED that Mona Lisa....info on how to acquire one (other than stealing it) needed badly....love the sofa too x

Oh, now that is special... You know, i actually love that Cath Kidston sofa. And the chairs. And the dining table... Good find!
so curvy and fresh these choices - also loved the chocolate brown wall a couple posts back. you're totally right jules, it's not about what you have, it's what you do with them!
Mixing styles like that is such an art, and you're right -- no need to splurge on expensive antiques!
Sometimes the loveliest finds come from flea markets, not auction houses.
Great images. Very stylish rooms. The revamped Mona wins my heart though.
Every time I see a house with all the walls painted white I think that's what I need to do. Then I think again...maybe just in the living room...love my black wall too much to cover it up just yet! Love the art and the fabulous rug.

the art really makes this room. What a great way to have a really neutral room (less the sofa) and make it colorful too!
