Fes

With the weather turning decidedly cool here now, my mind is naturally planning an escape. I mean, I really shouldn't be such a wuss, it's Australia right, it doesn't get that cold. And I actually like winter at times, snuggling in front of the fire or heading over east for a bit of skiing.

But there is something programmed in me to migrate to warmer regions. And as far as warmer regions go I think Morocco would be amazing. Still on my must see list, and in particular Fes, where this calm piece of colourful tranquility exists.

That looks dreamy. I think I'll take my shoes off and hibernate with a book for awhile.

Yummy!!! I've been savouring the same inspiration via a gorgeous book "Saha' by Greg and Lucy Malouf over this past week. Greg's an Aussie chef and they spent a month in Lebanon and Syria tasting and creating beautiful food and taking sumptuous photos. The architectural colours aren't as riotous as Fes but the food more than makes up for it. It's worth keeping an eye out for. Imagine starting the weekend with hot buttered toast + bitter orange marmalade with rosewater & almonds? Or how about enjoying some double-cooked duck with cinnamon, honey and cardamon?
Oops I've got carried away....enjoy your weekend, I'm off to boil the kettle for some rose tea! F

Ooh, those pictures look heavenly! My sister and I needed an escape so I managed to hobble to the movies and we saw Sex in the City. I think I want to go to Abu Dhabi now! Your pictures remind me of it a little.

Heading over east???? Does this mean you're from Perth. I could not believe than anyone in this city has the unerring eye for superb interiors that you do. If you are indeed a resident of Perth, I will no longer lament not living in more alluring climes.

This is by far the best interiors blog on the net. And I only regret having recently discovered it...ah but what joy awaits me now!
