The area I live in has a lot of Italian families, and many large established family homes that I like to imagine all look like this inside.
The beautiful terrazzo + parquetry floors, bold colours and palazzo style furnishings - the epitome of Italian style. Favolosa!

I've always suspected my English husband of being Italian way back in his genes somewhere. He has always wanted a deep red velvet sofa. Instead we have a sort of dusty rose velvet sofa.
I just posted about bits and bobs around my house. On reflection, and based on your post, I'm reminded that the Italian half of me must be in charge of decorating!
