Getaway

One of my dreams is buying a block of land out in the bush somewhere and building a shack with my boys as a weekend project. (I say 'one' because there's also - own a beach house, walk across the Great Wall, show them Africa, to name but a few...you get the drift...)

They were quite young when we left the farm and moved to the City and have only a few memories of me driving tractors and mustering sheep. I'd love to be able to share a little snippet country style life with them, even if it's just going for walks and lazing in the fresh air and listening to nature.

This little shack above caught my eye and stirred up all those thoughts again. Even though this is quite obviously not the Australian bush - it is a little slice of getaway heaven.

Simple, stylish and fun. Man, if I had this little joint, I imagine I would even make plum jam too!

{that little bundle in the bucket tub made me grin all over - my kids used to play with an egg beater like that in the bath too!}

I love the pic of the kid in the bath too. I grew up on a farm until we moved to London!! Talk about change of pace...so I know what you mean.

I'm just about to build my house from my childhood, weatherboard and timber doublehung windows etc etc. Cannot wait.
