That first image is going in the inspiration file I mentioned yesterday. The picture windows are timber framed. I was leaning towards white, and miles of it, but the scale of those black frames sizing up to the concrete floors make this option a serious contender too.
Maybe a little corner somewhere could work.

I love the drama of the black. Everyone needs drama in their lives...just a bit anyway, and only the good type :)
