I love the understated glamour of this home. The grand scale of the sofa, the rugs, the bed, all provide opulence as do the quality of fabrics and timber finishes.
I really admire this look, and anyone who gets to live like this. They say the grass is not always greener over the fence. But you know what, sometimes the sofas are tidier!

curiously - there is something lacking in this house ... a sense of life?
ReplyDeletesofas tidier & rooms bigger :) not to mention that the cost of that huge rug could probably buy a small harbourside studio apartment! i'm mentally saving for my madeline weinrib zig-zag rug... mentally because there's no cash to stash yet :)
ReplyDeleteone day. one day.
hope you're enjoying the festive season. x captn
Jules, this is such a fabulous example of paired down thirties style glam!
ReplyDeleteI like it - I'm into pared down especially during this busy season of excess. Refreshing!
ReplyDeleteRather beautiful...regal in an edited, Deco, pared-down way.

It's quite manly too, but there is something quite sexy about this place. Ouch.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day!
The sofas do look tidier! They must not have a two year old!! Boy does that grand sofa look comfy!!
ReplyDeleteSo simple and sophisticated...
ReplyDeleteFeels a bit 70's, love the sofa quote ha ha.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well in Jules world and you are making some progress...please ;)
I'm still in limbo and about ready to have a breakdown ... oh okay, maybe just a cry. It's all just beautiful but stressful as we get over the finish line.
