Shiny Days and Birthdays

Well it's nearly that time of year again to indulge in all things shiny (I'm sure that's the unofficial purpose of NYE, and I'm sticking to it!), and these images are my kind of shiny. But before I get to that, there's another little celebration to acknowledge.

The Diversion Project turned 1 a couple of days ago, and in true third child form, I totally missed it! When this little project started all those days ago I would never have dreamed that it would turn into the blog it is today. (OK, well today, it is a little bit on the lonely side, but I have one more beach holiday location to get to and then I'm done. Promise)

Thanks to all for making this become something that is really so special to me, and I hope you've enjoyed the ride so far.

I trust everyone had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all a happy, healthy and inspiring year ahead!

Goodness

Thank goodness, for goodness like this. Makes all my crazy-making real estate issues seem worthwhile!

How insanely good is the light in this home?

And in light of the still crazy state, and the fact I'm about to jump a plane to an island and then a plane back, and then a week down south at the beach.....the 'summer series' of Diversions is likely to be the status quo for a while longer. But I'll be back. Promise.

I have to pop my head in the door again soon. The Diversion Project is soon to turn 1!!

p.s. still looking at the moon? me too.

Unstoppable

Life is fragile but the determination of a mother is unstoppable.

I've really felt for dear friends this year that have been through tough times, like the amazing Shelley and A-M, and the devastating loss of people taken far too soon like Marija and Lisa.

Today whilst tip toeing back into blog land for a peek, I've been shocked to hear the news of Jane's battle. I've always admired Jane's wonderful style and sensibilities about life, decor, art and the world in general. This lady is one chic powerhouse, let me tell you. And so today, hearing that she has a tough road ahead, I'm reminded how fragile things are in this world and how lucky we are to have an amazing connection with so many.

Please send all the amazing powerful shiny love filled thoughts you can to Jane, and once a night, look up, find the moon, and visualise this tough struggle getting shorter and shorter, step by step. I believe this stuff can work, I wouldn't be asking if I didn't. Hopefully you believe too.

Please head here to read more about Martha's lovely idea.

Keep strong Jane, and look up. You'll see us urging you on.

Over The Fence

I love the understated glamour of this home. The grand scale of the sofa, the rugs, the bed, all provide opulence as do the quality of fabrics and timber finishes.

I really admire this look, and anyone who gets to live like this. They say the grass is not always greener over the fence. But you know what, sometimes the sofas are tidier!

Hello Hello

Hello hello, long time no speak. I know.

So much has been achieved since my last post that I'm a heady cocktail of exhilaration and exhaustion. Still in the midst of wheelings and dealings on the real estate front though, with nothing anymore settled than it was a couple of weeks ago.

Thought it might be high time though that I dished out a wafer thin serving of decor Diversion. Now the back breaking part is over I'll try to get a few more things up.

Looking forward to heading to my favourite quaint little seaside retreat pretty soon after Christmas. Please, oh please, let the real estate side of life be settled by then! Until then, this fabulous casual haven has satiated me.

Hope all's well in your world! Thanks ever so much for coming back : )
