Bucket Loads

There's a lovely elegance about this home. You know that classic, not trying overly hard, just has in bucket loads naturally, kind of elegance.

I love the mix between the original part of the building, the old school elegance, and the new addition at the rear,  the modern pedigreed elegance. Very cleverly done.

Friday 5'sies

Can you imagine having Friday 5'sies at this bar??! Might slow down the cocktail consumption - you'd be far too busy eyeing off all the details.

As this post hits the page I will be standing on a clay pan in Carnarvon having my Friday 5'sies with a bunch of the loveliest, gutsiest chicks around. A dear friend has a station up there ("station" as in Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman type farm ((woeful explanation but i was going for global understanding!))), and I'm flying up for a weekend of 'Bling and Blundies' ladies luncheons, on what my lovely friend calls the "Bedouin Clay Pans of Carnarvon" - sounding all very glam and SATC2 to me, but undoubtedly with a way better story line.

Will be back soon - but in the mean time I've left a few Diversion treats in cupboard for you, so stop in for a morsel or two and do have a fabulous weekend.

Figured

Got a bit spell bound by these lovely treasures over at a store called Tamé by colourblindsmarties. I think it was my competitive side kicking in, you know that part of your brain that when you see a puzzle you have to follow it through and figure it out with a fist punch in the air before anyone else does. Yep, what ev's jules...rambling now!

But do go check them out, they're very cool. But just so you know, I already figured it out.

Holy Trinity

OK, so this place personifies the holy trinity in my decorating book, grey + white + natural timber. {OK, one of the trinity's, because as we know, one is never enough}. And the fact it is a stunning home full of great detail like the panelling really takes it up a notch.

Add in some colour and some cool touches left right and centre, and I'm done for. One little detail I'm particularly in love with is the alignment of the two paintings next to the door in the image above. So perfect, and so going to have to replicated somewhere around my place soon.

An Edge

This home seemed to be a place of contrast. Case in point, take a look at the last image there full of subtlety and poise and compare to the first and second; hard to see that it's the same home, but it is.

But one consistent thing is an edge, and I love that.

Ga-Ga

There's not much that I don't love about this aussie place, it's ticking so many boxes in my book. The grey, the timber, the fabulous art. But I am particularly developing a shade a green over those light pendants. The multi grouping is stunning, but I'm totally ga-ga over the shiny silver in the living spaces. Shiny + silver, a match made in heaven.

Fit Out

Love the use of ply wood in this stunning loft. A material that has quite a humble lineage has come up trumps and really steals the show in this fit out. Casual and warm, it really brings life into an otherwise controlled space.

I think it suits the space well, giving a little nod to the utilitarian history of the building. I don't know if that's how they contrived this, but man it works.
