The Sea And Me









We're friends, the sea and me. These days I live very close to the sea, but it hasn't always been the case. I have a large oil painting that is very similar to these dark broody images. It gives me joy every single day.

And from that time on I bathed in the Poem
Of the Sea, star-infused and churned into milk,
Devouring the green azures; where, entranced in pallid flotsam,
A dreaming drowned man sometimes goes down...

    Me too, and I would never wish to not live near the sea, with its sense of space and salt air and antidote to confinement. May we see your oil painting...? My walls have Karen Hollingworth seascapes, as though the sea itself were not enough.
